SOMOS Facilitator Training

Become the practitioner of genuine depth and uncommon skill that has always been emerging in you.

This is a long-form training in relational facilitation, group process, and embodied leadership practice. It has grown out of years of live facilitation, retreat leadership, somatic practice, and long-term community building across cultures and contexts. The program is designed to help experienced practitioners deepen their capacity to work with human complexity, trust, emergence, and meaningful group process.

The Framework

Be. Become. Belong.

Be

Develop a deeper relationship with your own practice, patterns, and presence. Before we can hold complexity with others, we have to become more honest about how we ourselves respond to uncertainty, conflict, intimacy, and trust. This part of the work begins close in: with attention, embodiment, and the cultivation of relational self-awareness.

Become

Strengthen your capacity to facilitate meaningful group experiences with depth, steadiness, and clarity. With ongoing support from the SOMOS community, you'll deepen your ability to work with emergence, emotional complexity, nervous system dynamics, and long-form relational process. This is where practice becomes embodied leadership.

Belong

Upon completing the program, you earn a place on the SOMOS platform — hosting your own group, participating in ongoing weekly mentorship, and cross-pollinating with a living ecosystem of deeply skilled facilitators. Your community grows because ours does.

What You'll Learn

From nervous system awareness to sustaining honest dialogue across difference.

SOMOS Facilitator Development is comprehensive. We are building relationally mature facilitators — people who can read a room, work with rupture and repair, navigate conflict without collapse, and guide groups through meaning-making under uncertainty. But we go further than most. We teach you how to take your work off the screen and into the world.

Relational Facilitation

  • Nervous system awareness in groups — reading and responding to what's alive in the room
  • Rupture and repair — working with tension, conflict, and misunderstanding without collapse
  • Relational listening and meaning-making under uncertainty
  • Designing participatory environments that invite honest contribution
  • Long-form trust building — sustaining groups over time with depth and continuity

Embodied Group Leadership

  • Designing and leading multi-day in-person gatherings with intention and care
  • The practical architecture of retreats — from venue selection to session flow to participant support
  • Sustaining honest dialogue across difference — holding complexity without forcing resolution
  • Building communities that nourish people over the long term
  • Grounded leadership practice — presence, pacing, and knowing when to lead and when to follow

This is where the magic happens.

The SOMOS approach to in-person experience design is not bougie tourism dressed as transformation. We call it what it is: truth in action. Depth and purpose finding their way into a format for learning. We develop people into deeply skilled retreat leaders — quickly, completely, and with full support.

Continuing the Work Together

The training is a beginning, not an ending.

What follows is a living relationship with SOMOS — an ongoing container for practice, mentorship, peer learning, and shared inquiry. We hold the space, the community, and the long-term commitment to help your work grow with integrity. You're never leaving. You're becoming part of a family of practitioners committed to the same kind of depth you discovered here.

Weekly Mentorship

You participate in ongoing group mentorship with core faculty and peers — a living container for practicing what you've learned, bringing your challenges, and refining your craft over time. Mentorship isn't a program you complete. It's a practice you continue.

Peer Learning & Practice Groups

You're part of a community of practitioners moving through similar territory. We facilitate ongoing peer learning circles — spaces where facilitators can share facilitation challenges, reflect on what's working, and grow together. Your colleagues become your greatest teachers.

Retreat Leadership & Community Building

As you step into your own work, you're supported in designing and leading in-person gatherings. We offer frameworks, mentorship, and community reflection on what you're building — helping you create experiences rooted in the same kind of depth and integrity you experienced here.

Ongoing Inquiry & Integration

The field of relational practice is always evolving. We maintain a shared commitment to continuous learning — bringing in new research, exploring emerging questions together, and deepening the edges of what's possible in groups and in your own practice.

A Living Container for Long-Term Practice

There's no one way to do this work. Some facilitators go deep with intimate groups. Others are called to larger gatherings. Most want something in between. SOMOS holds a living container for all of these paths — not prescribing what your work should look like, but supporting the integrity and depth of whatever you're called to do. We do this together. Your practice becomes our practice. Your growth is our growth.
